Nordic Walking


The walking club Autour de Nous organizes Nordic walks Tuesday mornings and Sunday mornings throughout the year. The first two Nordic walking sessions are free so feel free to contact Agnès Martin, trained at the French Federation of Hiking. Tél : +33 (0)6 30 70 48 46.

Geocaching is modern treasure hunt. Open to all, you just have to get a GPS (for hire at the tourist office) and the roadmap available on www.terra-aventura.fr.

2 adventures have been created by the tourist office and the town hall.
Glâner les Sentes au-delà des tors : You'll discover the beautiful Glane Valley.
Remontez aux Portes du Temps : You’ll get to know the Glane village ( an atypical one.!). But make sure you have good shoes! Nature is never far away…

Town of Saint-Junien

  • Area on the left hand side of the Vienne river along the secondary road D116 between the hamlet „le Puy de Valette“ and the hamlet „Montjovis“
  • Area on the right hand side, along the secondary road D32 between the stream of Chateau Gaillard and the town limit.

Town of Saint-Brice-sur-Vienne

  • Area on the right hand side of the Vienne river, from the mouth of Chambery stream up to 450 m upstream of the secondary road D58 bridge. (access via municipal path which goes from Moulin de Boussignac to Gaut (along the SNCF railroad))

Downstream of Limoges the Vienne River becomes bigger, wider and deeper. It shelters almost all fish species.

During the Holiday : Le Moulin de Tarn (Aixe sur Vienne) and le Moulin de la Mie (Saint-Priest sous Aixe), le Pont de la Gabie (Verneuil sur Vienne) on the left hand side of the Vienne river.

If you are an experienced fisherman: l’Arthonnet, le Glanet and la Vergogne are great rivers for trout. At the beginning of the season you can bait a hook with a live worm then with an artificial one, and as soon as the trees are in bloom, you can try with a minnow.
Between Saint-Victurnien and Saint-Junien you can find beautiful pikeperch.

Sites worth visiting : the Glane river at Site Corot for its beautiful landscape and Saint-Brice for the night carp fishing .
